Hello, and welcome to yet another episode of Some Patches Required. Yep, we're still doing the dang thing. This week, we're proud to introduce a special guest by the name of Bruce Evans, who just so happens to be a technical artist at Blizzard.
We invited Bruce to talk a bit about what exactly a technical artist does, how he got to where he is today, and to give some advice on the potential merits of going to grad school to get a job in games. What we got was a hearty helping of the above with the welcome addition of some relatable stories of career struggles, tales of time spent in Japan teaching English, and a bit of affirmation for anyone struggling to break into an industry they love.
What you won't hear is anything about the recent headlines regarding Activision Blizzard. We'll save that for another episode, and we think Bruce's insights are just what the doctor ordered right now - no controversy required.
